Terms

Terms of use

ThriftKitty is a training game for thrift, antique, and resale decisions. These terms cover how you use the app, coins, Hunt, Community, and Picker Battle.

Updated September 19, 2026

The service

ThriftKitty is an educational app. You practice Buy or Pass decisions, build a Picker Rating, unlock category skill trees, scan finds with Hunt, share Community submissions, and optionally play Picker Battle.

Sold ranges, Hunt results, and lesson copy are educational estimates. They are not appraisals, authenticity opinions, investment advice, or a promise that an item will sell for any amount.

Accounts

You can start as a guest. Progress on a guest profile can be lost if you delete the app or change devices. Creating an email and password saves that same profile so coins, unlocks, and lesson history can follow you.

You are responsible for the email and password you use. Contact hello@thriftkitty.com if you need help with an account.

Eligibility

If you are under 13, you may not create an account or use Hunt, Community, or purchases. If you are 13 to 17, a parent or guardian should review these terms and supervise use.

Coins and purchases

Coins are a digital balance used inside ThriftKitty. They unlock categories, pay for Hunt scans, and stake Picker Battles. They have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for money.

Picker Rating is based only on training decisions. Buying coins does not raise it.

Coin packs are consumable in-app purchases processed by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat Billing. Store refund rules apply. We may reverse coins from fraudulent, refunded, or chargebacked transactions.

Daily grants and other promotions can change. Unused promotional coins are not owed as cash.

Hunt, Community, and Battle

Hunt scans are optional. Each submitted image costs coins as shown in the app. Failed analysis is refunded automatically. Hunt results are machine-generated. See the AI policy for how that works.

Community submissions must be photos and details you have the right to share. See the submissions policy.

Picker Battle uses a coin stake and a shared item set. Scoring and payouts are decided on the server. Ties refund stakes. We may cancel or refund a battle that is expired, abandoned, or abusive.

Acceptable use

Do not cheat the ledger, abuse refunds, harass other players, upload photos of people or private records, scrape the service, or attempt to access another person's account or our systems.

We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms or harms other players.

Intellectual property

ThriftKitty, the kitty mark, lesson copy, and product design are ours or our licensors'. You may not copy the curriculum or brand for a competing product.

Photos you upload stay subject to the Hunt and submissions policies. You keep ownership of your photos; you grant us the license described there.

Disclaimers

The app is provided as is. Training data can be incomplete or outdated. Live thrift and auction markets change. Verify condition, marks, and current comparable sales before you spend money.

To the extent allowed by law, ThriftKitty is not liable for purchasing decisions, missed deals, or losses from relying on a lesson or Hunt result. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; those limits apply only as far as the law allows.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top of this page is the latest version. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.
